Wednesday, September 28,1804. The Proviso ia_. Secretary— To move thc recommittal of the Hospital and Charitable Aid Bill. The Secretary for _*_bi__* Works— To move the following resolutions :— • 1. That the Report of the Select Committee appointed to consider anil report upon the practicability of increasingrthe revenue derived trom pasturage rents within the pro\rince be adopted. 2. That his Honor the Superintendent be respectfully requested to take such steps as may be necessary for the purposed' obtaining the sanction of auAct of the General Assembly to the recommendations contained in that report. ;.-f That his Honor the Superintendent be authorised to appropriate during the present financial year 2000 acres ol waste lauds for the execution of drainage works. That in the opinion of this Council it is desirable that that the payment of any contribution frotn the Public; Treasury for the service, of auy Road District should be withheld if, iv the opinion of the Executive Government, the preparation of the Ratepayers' Roll for the district is unreasonably delayed. That while tl_U Council has made provision lor the payment of the expenses of the geological survey of the province during- the present financial year, it disdains any liability to provide for any further payments ou this account after thc expiration of that period. 2. That in the opinion of this Council it is unadviaable, in the event of the Geological Department being continued after the expiratiou of the present financial year, that the payment of tlie expenses jof the de- ( partment should bo placed on the same footing as hitherto.
