Correspondence.
TO TltE EDITOR 01 THE 'FBEBB. ,
Sih, —In answer to jour correspondent "Enquirer' I beg to state that he is quite right in hie statements ; but as Dr. Beswick of Kaiapoi met mc in consultation on the case, and an the whole circumstances were so well known in the neighborhood, I considered myself justified in giving a certificate as to the cause of death. Had Dr. Beswick not seen the man, or or had hia opinion differed from mine, I should have been the first to demand an inquest. I may add that Mr. Donald Cameron, of Saltwater Creek, did all in his power to carry out the direction! of Dr. Beswick and myself. I remain yours truly, . Matthew Mobrir, MJLC.SJE, Chnstchurch, May 19th, 1864.
