Sib,—l saw in your issue of this day's date, a notice to tbe effect that Tuesday next, the let December, was to be observed as a General iloliday in honor of the opening of the railway. [t is possible that this is the only step the Govern* -nent will take in the matter. If we are to ba?e a General Iloliday, let us try and make it worthy of the name, and, considering the object, let it be one that our children can look back on with pleasure.
