Sebastopol, ship, from London, with Immigrants and cargo. Sylph, from Chatam Islands. Windover, brig. Mary Ann Christina, from Wellington. Lansdowne, ship, from Melbourne.
The ship Sebastopol, Captain D. Taylor, srrivod in Lyttelton harbour, from London, on Thursday evoning about 5 p.m., after a protracted passage of over 100 days. She left Gravesend on the 17th January, and did not clear the land until the 9th February, experiencing'heavy gale* all the time. Her passenger list includes 17 in tho Ist, and 27 in the 2nd cabin, besides 205 assisted Government emigrants. The passengers speak in high terms of th c Captain, surgeon, and officers, and a few days before arrival presented them with testimonials, tbe one given to the Captain consisting of a parse of sovereigns and an address containing 230 signatures. This ship has been exceedingly free from sickness, no death having occurred during the voyage, bnt 3 births and 1 marriage. During the early part of the passage she spoke several ships bound to India and China.
The Wonga Wonga was taken in tow by the Storm Bird on Wednesday last, to Evans' Bay. Tbe Storm Bird was taken on the slip the same day. The slip recently erected by Mr. Thirkell for the N.Z.S.K Company in Evans' Bay, we are glad to state, is a complete sucoess.— 'Wellington Independent,' May 10.
