OTICE TO PUBLICANS AND OTHERS. The following Clauso of tlie Public House Ordinance now in force is published to remind persons desirous of applying for licenses, that application must bo made on tho day specified therein. " Every person desirous of obtaining a license under this Ordinance shall, on or before the Ist day of March, unless such day should fidl on a Sunday, and then on or before the last day of February in every year, cause to bo delivered to the Resident Magistrate of the Court, nearest to the house in which it is proposed to exercise such license, an application in writing signed by him in the form in the Schedule 1). hereunto annexed, and in the case of a new applicant for a license together with a certificate signed by at least, ten substantial householders residingin tho neighbourhood of such bouse in tho form in the Baid Schedule D. hereunto annexed." TIIHE Provincial Government will receive JL TENDERS of SITES FOR PUBLIC BUILDINGS in the immediato vicinity of Christchurch, but without the boundary of town ; as follows.— For the Immigration Barracks, any quantity not exceeding three acres in extent. For the Gaol, any quantity not exceeding five acres in extent. Tenders to bo sent in addressed to the Provincial Secretary by noon on Friday tho 20th inst. HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to bo notifloil that by virtue of the powers delegated to him by His Excellency tho Governor, under the " Provincial Elections Act, 1858," he has removed tho Polling Place for the Wainui District, from Carew's Woolshed, Piraki, and has appointed tho Resident Magistrate's Court, Akaroa, to bo the Polling Place for the election of tho Superintendent nnd Members of tho Provincial Council in the place thereof.
