MOTOR CYCLE CLUB ALLOTTED N.Z. CHAMPIONSHIPS

The annual conference held at Palmerston North last weekend, was a very successful one as far as the Bay of Plenty Motor Cycle Club was concerned.

All three championships applied for by the club were granted and this coming season should see some of the best riders in New Zealand competing in Whakatane in all types of events. The Bay of Plenty Club have been allotted the New . Zealand quarter-mile grass track championship, 350 c.c., the North Island Beach Championship, and the New Zealand 500 c.c. Road Hill, Climb Championship. The delegate, Mr F. Cameron, was elected to the New Ziealand Auto-Cycle Union and also is the district steward for the whole of the Bay of Plenty and Poverty Bay. This is an honour for the Bay of Plenty Motor Cycle Club and is an illustration of the high regard held by clubs throughout New Zealand for this club.

Next weekend will see the local club holding its usual fortnightly fixture in the way of a scramble which is racing over rough territory. The local rider, R. Woods, who was very successful at Tauranga last weekend in winning the big event of the day, will be again taking part here.
