Taneatua Croquet Club Openig

A happy afternoon was spent by members of the Taneatua Croquet Club and their guests from Whakatane and Opotiki when they held their opening day on Wednesday. Mrs E. C. Hill, the president, welcomed the visitors and new members and declared the greens open for play. Competitions were played. Crazy croquet was won by Mrs Comer, of Whakatane, Mrs Bennett, of Taneatua, won the side ball competition, and hitting the peg Was won by Mrs Maddren, of Opotiki. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, after which Mrs Maddren and Mrs Carling, on behalf of their members, thanked the Taneatua ladies for the pleasant afternoon they had spent.
