Few Attend Meeting At Manawahe

Owing to the inclement weather and bad roads, few members were able to attend the August meeting af the Manawahe Women’s Institute.

A report of the Christchurch conference was given by the delegate, Mrs Appleby. Tea was served by the hostess, Mrs Wilding. A cake donated by Mrs King was won by Martin Logan. Competition winners were:— Flower, Mrs Ansell and Mrs Appleby equal 1, Mrs G. Logan 2; shrub, Mrs Appleby 1, Mrs Logan, Mrs King and Mrs Jones, equal 2; vegetable, Mrs King 1; patchwork article. Mrs Logan 1, Mrs M. Logaiv 2.
