BEACON LOSES TROPHY BY NINE POINTS Shooting for the Tyssen Trophy the P. and T. team Mrs J. Critchley, L. G. Attwood, B. Grant and D. Dufty, defeated the Beacon team, L. O. Stewart, Miss A. Bathe, J. Jessop and L. R. Spring by the narrow margin of nine points in a very closely contested challenge at the fortnightly shoot of the Whakatane Legion Miniature Rifle Club. Neither team was shooting up to its usual standard and the return challenge from the Beacon, to be shot in a month’s time should provide very close competition.

The Senior Silver Spoon was won on handicap by W. P. Tyssen and the Junior Pennant went to L. J. Attwood. An “Own Start” , sweepstake competition was won by A. Bradshaw.
