GAMES FOR COUNTRY CENTRES No cricket will be played at Whakatane over the week-end but two games will be played in country centres on Sunday. At Te Teko Waimana will meet the Te Teko club while P. and T. will play Taneatua on the latter’s home ground. These fixtures will continue the second round of the Whakatane Cricket Association’s competitions. The United Club will not be playing tomorrow. A match previously arranged for Gisborne has now been cancelled. In the competition Edgecumbe has drawn the bye this week but a game has been arranged with Galatea on the Edgecumbe home ground on Sunday. TEAMS FOR WEEK-END
Te Teko to play Waimana at Te Teko: Patterson, Lyon, Griffiths, Revell, Miller, Theobald, Sparks, Harvey, Campbell, Hartley, Tunnicliffe, Latimer. The P. and T. team to play Taneatua at Taneatua on Sunday is to practice on the Domain tomorrow at 10 a.m. when transport to Taneatua will also be arranged. The team: Cleland, Emmerson, Jones, Whiteside, Rivett, Burt, Cassidy, Kelly, Fitzsimmons, Malaquin, Witcher, Paton, Schou.
Edgecumbe team to play Galatea on Sunday, players to bring a plate and be at the ground at 9 a.m.:— Tunnicliffe (2), L. Thurlow, T. Brown, K. L. Watson, Blake (2), R. Hills, R. Andrews, R. Hunter, N. Heath, J. Meikle, J. Martin, John Hawkins.
