Santa Claus Enters Hall On Stretcher At St John Party
Santa Claus was .. carried in on d stretcher to the Christmas, party of the junior division of the St John Ambulance Association at Whakatane on Wednesday night. Far from being “laid out” or in need of fifst aid Santa Claus was in a jovial mood and as he was carried round the hall he distributed Christmas gifts to most of those present. Commencing with a tea the party developed into a gay social with items given by several of the members. Games and a gymnastic display took up a large part of the evening, which concluded with a screening, of Christmas films.
A number of certificates and other trophies were presented to the following cadets:—
Efficiency Cup: Graham Waite. Musicians’ Badge: Graham Bell and Graham Waite. Certificates were received by senior members. Items were given by the following:—•
Piano solo, Dulcie Dalton and Grqham Waite; Irish Jig, Joan McIntosh; Christmas play by the ,cadet choir.
