Awakeri Y.F.C.

With the usual large attendance, including several new and prospective members, the Awakeri Young Farmers' Club held its monthly meeting in the Awakeri hall. Reports were given on last month's field day and on the two recentlyheld debates, arid the meeting decided that this month's field day should be held m conjunction with the Awakeri School Calf Club day ■on November 25 A lecture was later given by Mr D. Allen on "The training of a young dog for farm use" which proved both interesting and educational. Supper and k social with the Country Girls' Club followed.

Election Day Closing Although it is definite that all places of business must close at 2 p.m. for the election next Wednesday, one of the questions the Whakatane Chamber of Commerce is to discuss tomorrow night is what arrangements can be made between midday and 2 p.m. that day.
