A USEFUL BUOY
A signalling buoy, floating in offshore position, will pick up and transmit to shore stations underwater noises caused by approaching vessels, including submerged submarines. It has peacetime uses, such as reporting weather condi tions. The device can pick up airplane noises as well as underwater sound waves.
