Interest Wanted In Edgecumbe Cricket

Greater interest among members in future Association meetings was urged by speakers at the annual meeting of the Edgecumbe Cricket Club. An appeal was made for more support of the Club and it was decided to meet the coming season on the same pattern as last year’s activities. Votes of thanks were passed to wives of members, to L. Thurston and D. Cornwall, to those members who made vehicles available for transport, and to Mr Walsh for the use of his premises. Officers elected:— Patron, Mr C. Marx; president, Mr A. Blake; vice-presidents, Messrs I. Gow, C. Wilson, S. Runciman, C. Hunt, D. Bridger, R. G. Blair, D. G- Hawkins, D. Hay, D. Meikle; secretary, J. Meikle and G. O’Brien; club captain, Mr L. Thurlow; delegates to Whakatane Cricket Association, Messrs K. Tunnicliffe and A. Blair.
