Bay Of Plenty Hotels Regraded & Tariffs Amended

An amendement to the hotel tariffs price order,- which came into force on Monday was recently gazetted. The order applies to 465 hotels, 268 in the North Island and 197 in the South Island. Each hotel is listed with its star grade beside it. Highest grade is “maximum,” and only three hotels in New Zealand—all in Wellington —hold this distinction. From maximum the grade goes down in numerical order from five to one, with plus signs for each number. The Bay of Plenty hotels are graded as follows: — Whakatane: Commercial and Whakatane, 3 star plus. Tauranga: New Tauranga and Star, 3 star plus; Commercial and Masonic, 3 star. Katikati: Talisman, 2 star. Te Puke: Te Puke, 1 star.
