Control Of Hill Cemetery Discussed

The R.S.A. should not disregard 'the Council altogether when it is going to lay any plaques or do any new formation work at the soldiers’ section of the Hill Cemetery, the Mayor, Mr B. S. Barry, said at this week’s meeting of the Whakatane Borough Council. He considered the Council should have some say in the laying out of the whole cemetery because it was possible that in time it may be left for the Council to maintain.

Other councillors agreed with the Mayor and it was decided to notify the R.S.A. accordingly.
