POROPORO WINS BOTH B GRADE SECTIONS At the end of the Central Bay of Plenty Hockey Association’s first B- Grade competition, Poroporo wins both the men’s and women’s -competitions. Points are: Men: Poroporo 11, Rangers 10, Paroa 9, Te Teko 8. Wayfarers 2. Women: Poroporo 18, Te Teko 11, Awakeri 11, Paroa 8, Huimai 7, Rangers 6. POSITION IN A GRADE With five games to go in the A Grade competition, the positions are:— V/omen: Poroporo 14, Te Teko 13, Matata 13, Paroa 9, Richmond 8, Rovers 8, Huimai 3. Taneatua 2 and Wairaka 2. Men: Rovers 13, Riverslea 13, Poroporo 11, Wanderers 11, Richmond 10, Wairaka 8, Huimai 3, Taneatua 3, Matata 1. With so little difference in the first five teams the coming games will be keenly watched by supporters. NEPIA HONA SHIELD At the Te Teko Domain tomorrow Te Teko (holders) will meet Murupara (challengers) in a match for the Nepia Hona Memorial Challenge Shield. In the evening there is to be a dance in the Tuteao Hall at 8 o’clock. Admission will cost 2/6, and the organisers claim there will be an excellent floor, good music and a hot supper. P.B.A.
