Enrolment Of Pupils At Post-Primary Schools

In a note from the District High School, the attention of parents is drawn to the requirements of the Education Act whereby all children of school age (under 15 years) are reouired to be enrolled as pupils of a public school or of some other school. Parents of children of school age, who propose that their children attend the Whakatane District High School, should take steps at once to enrol their children if they have not already done so. Penalties are provided by the Act for failure to enrol a pupil of school age, and anyone employing a child who should be at school is liable to a fine of £5 for each day of such offence.
