Mr R. Chapman of the Regent Theatre, Whakatane, will be leaving for Marton on February 13. Mrs J. C. J. Wilson, who has been on a visit to Hawke’s Bay, returned to the Vicarage on Saturday. Mr F. J. (Nira) Frazer left Whakatane on January 28 to take up his new position in the Maori Affairs Department at Rotorua. Very Rev. S. G. Gaulton, Dean of Auckland at one time Vicar of Whakatane, was consecrated Bishop of Melanesia at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Auckland, on Monday. Mr G. W. Campbell, an electrician employed in the waste paper department at the Paper Mills was burned by a flash-over between two main switches early yesterday morning. He was treated at the district hospital for burns to the hands and face, but is now home again.
