DEBATING CONTEST WAIMANA v OPOTIKI “That Modern Service is a Menace to Humanity” was the subject debated by the Waimana and Opotiki Young Farmers’ Clubs in the St. John Hall, Opotiki, recently. Waimana took the affirmative and the teams were as follows: Waimana: J. Cranswick (leader), F. Mitchell and J. White. Opotiki: T. Brown (leader), I. Grant and G. Joblin.

Mr Hodgson, adjudicator, gave his decision in favour of the Opotiki team by a margin of 288 points to 282.'
