Fishing Story

"I had an amusing experiece one evening at a famous fishing hotel in North Nist. I'd landed that night two large sharks, tied up to the side of the M.L., and in the hotel I met a crusty old retired colonel who asked me whether I'd been fishing. He meant for salmon or sea trout. I said "yes," said he said, "What was your best fish today?" I had the great pleasure of replying: "Oh, somewhere about . 26001b5." And with a snort of disgust he left me. He was just the sort of colonel to whom I'd always wanted to make that sort of remark."—Major Maxwell, talking about "Shark Hunting" in a BBC broadcast recently.
