EX-SERVICEMEN’S QUOTA

•Until the end of June the number of State rental houses and flats allocated to ex-servicemen tenants under the 50 per cent, quota system was 5452, states the Rehabilitation Department. Of these 1561 were in the Auckland district, 419 in the Hamilton district, 239 in the Napier district, 152 in the New Plymouth district, 2035 in the Wellington district, 104 in the Nelson district, 522 in the Christchurch district, 307 in the Dunedin district and 113 in the Invercargill district. Figures for these districts showing the number of State houses allocated to ex-ser-vicemen during June itself, were Auckland 35, Hamilton 18, Napier 2, New Plymouth 1, Wellington 39, Nelson 1, Christchurch 10, Dunedin 12, and Invercargill none, the total for June being 118.
