THE "GOOD ENDEAVOUR" LEAGUE

What ho, what ho ? ma hearties. : Well this is certainly a very happy time just now isn't it, what with , Peace being declared and the school holidays coming along right on top of everything, i was watching the Peace celebrations in the Strand on Wednesday evening through my rub-ber-mounted, jewel-" led in ten holes telescope, and I suddenly decided that as everyone seemed to be having such a good time I might as well j,oin in. AcI told the. pels to £uck themselves up in bed ; and £loin£ down the track I untied Monty my > ' dinghy, and started to row across to the mainland. It was not very j long before I was across, and after parking my boat down by the rowing shod T stepped ashore, and wended my way up towards the town. I saw quite a number of you sailors having lots of fun ? but t don't think any of you spotted me. My bones are not as young a$ thev used to be so of course I didn't join in the dancing, but although I kept in the background, I saw everything that was going on, and thoroughly enjoyed myself.

It was fairly late when I arrived back at Whale Island so I crept quietly into the cave taking care pot to wake the pets, who were all snoring away very loudly and crawled into bed. Yes there can be no doubt that everyone is very happy that the war has ended and we all sincerely hope that there will never be another. Wellj I think its time to sign off, so wishing you all a happy holiday f I must say cheerio for this week. P.T.W. •
