PADDY'S MARKET

RED CROSS SOCIETY'S EFFORT FUNCTION AT TE TEKO On August. 26, the Te Teko Red Cross Society held, its annual Paddy's Market in the hall and once again the residents of the triet gave the effort their wholehearted support. The committee wishes to thank all those who worked so hard on the day and also those who brought donations for the stalls. Special thanks, are due to Mr Nepia Haua and Mesdames Haua Taute Edwards and Anderson' for organising and running the hangi; to Mr J. Charley for the use of the hall; Mr J. Nghaere and the owner of the Kokahina Hall for the use of their tables; to Mr C. Eivers for the use of his truck; to Mr Caldwell and his team of workers for running the side shows and arranging and cleaning of the hall; to Mrs Dunderdale for her donation and to Mr R. W. Smith lor a cheque for £4 towards the price of the pigs for the liangi;. and to Mesdames Harty, Eivers Trumper, Butler and Smith for the many hours spent in preparing and making clothes donated to the stall. The results of the stalls were as follows:—Hangi £21; Produce £17 8s iy 2 d; Cothes £27 Is;, Raffles £9 16& 4V2d; Soft drinks £5 18s B%d; Tea £» Is 3d; Side shows £7 3s, 6%d. The Society's ftinds will benefit by the sum of £89 13s 9d.
