WEDDING BELLS

MANTELL—KEDGLEY A weddiiiTg of special interest to the district took place at the Presbyterian Hall, Edgecumbe, on Saturday, August 19, when Flora J. Man tell widow of the late Mr Mantell of Fiji, was married to Mnur* •j. * ice J. Kedgley eldest son of the Rev. E. H. and Mrs Kedgley, The hall was beautifully decorated with bowls of camelias and ja-po-nica. Rev. J. H. Starnes; officiated assited by the bridegroom's •y father. The bride, who w.as escorted by Mr W. J. Murray, looked very sweet in a tailored costume and accessories to match. A beautiful shoulder spray added a chic finish, Mrs Cowie officiated at the organ. At the close of the eeremony j the bride was presented with a delightful horse shoe of freezias by Bernice Starnes. Afterwards a reception was held at the residence of Mr and Mrs Lord Otakiri. Mrs Lord Mrs Tickner •» ' and Mrs Crist all, friends of both the bride and bridegroom, acting as joint hostesses. The spacious rooms were gay with bowls of spring bulbs) and japonica and the tables were most attractive with vases of daffodil and asparagus fern. A two-tiei* cake made, by the hostesses was; the centre of attraction. Later in thf afternoon the happy couple left by car for Tauranga amid showers oJt confetti.
