POPULAR GIRL CONTEST

Otakiri Hall to dance the hours away. Music was supplied voluntarily by Mrs Armstrong and Mrs Fowell, while enjoyable. extras were played, by Mr Steph Pierce. The floor was in good condition, while the hall decorations of Nikau Palm fronds which reached to the ceiling were very effective. Mr O. Lord filled the position of M.C. in his usual capable manner while a delightful supper was served towards the close of the evening by a ladies' committee. Competitions and novelty dances were won as under: Competition, Miss Pat Lord. Mystery Parcel, Miss Leslie. Special Monte Carlo, Mr A1 J lan Armstrong and Miss Dawn. Armsong. Spot Waltz, Mr B. Payne and partner. A feature of the dance was the number of returned men present from both the Pacific and Middle East, areas, and it is. hoped that they will continue to support the Otakiri Patriotic Fund.
