A cow which was standing near the shed was struck on the front shoulder J)y the lightning, which ran down its leg to the ground, and killed it instantly. Mr Bennett who was standing near the switchboard at the time saw flame flash from the switch but apart, from u burnt-out element in the dairy water-heater no other damage was done. It is fortunate that no other cows killed as other animals were in the vicinity.
