LAST WEEK'S COMPETITION
CATCHING THE TRAIN Twelve answers came to this, competition and just nine of them were correct. So dearie dearie 1 me what am I to do? The Editor says "Peter my boy. your crcw are getting too clever for you, so you must, make .your competitions tougher." This week I have persuaded him to give five free picture tickets which I have judged as usual ; on neatness. Well now the question was: — "I have two minutes in which to catch a train and two miles to go. If I go the first mile at. the rate of 30 miles per hour, at what rate must I go the second mile in which to catch the train?''
Well, as so many of my crew have pointed out, I miss, the train altogether because I lurre taken the full two minutes to cover the first mile. Too bad., isn't it? So the Avinners will be: — Warren Kirk Marian Suckling Rex Major Noeline Middlemiss Barbara Wallace
