In the London Blitz
Mr F. W. Doidge, M.P., at n meeting of To Puna settlers told a story of an old lady in London who flatly refused to leave her home throughout the blitz, although the buildings all around her had been demolished. Wondering at the old lady's stubbornness the neighbours asked her what she did when the bombs dropped. "When night comes," she said. "I sits down and reads the Bible, and then I say my prayers, after that I goes to lied. Then I starts up and says, 'To 'Kll with Hitler,' and lie down and goes to> sleep."'
