ARRIVED SAFELY

DISTRICT PATRIOTIC PARCELS

GRATEFUL RECIPIENTS The secretary of the Ecigecum-' be Patriotic Committee has received a letter from a New Zearland member of the R.A.F. i n grateful recognition of the receipt of a Christmas pares! fromthat district. The letter which is published hereunder, should do much to allay the fears of those who' suspect that the parcels so eonseienito-usiy packed and forwarded by the women of the vraious Patriotic Committees arc not. distributed to our men. The letter, states the writer, is one of many similar acknowledgments received. "I yesterday received a Xmas parcel from New Zealand House the contents of which had been made up by Mrs L. 13. Martin and Mrs B. Cowie. Perhaps it was intended for one of our soldiers in the Middle East as the khaki handkerchief implied but ycu will probably not be duly perturbed that it has reached the hands of the R.A.F. The cake is delicious and the sweets a great luxury. I haven't as yet opened the tins of oysters etc. but they look prettj T good. This paper is however part of the writing pad which was included and is a timely reminder that its abc-ut time I wrote home again. I have just returned from 48 hours leave which I spent in London with some of the chaps from the New Zealand Squadron which is stationed near there. We greatly appreciate what you people at home are doing for us here. Again thanking ycu and the two ladies of your ccm'mtitee who made up the parcel."
