RATIONING

FOR any one to declare that the rationing scheme as introduced by the Government is liable to inflict, any genuine hardship, would be flagrant falsehood. Doubtless it will mean a certain closer study of economy in essential lines frut even a cursory glance at the list of individual allowances, shows that there is ample provision for the main necessities of life. On a comparative basis with the rationed allowances in England and on the Continent New Zealanders still have every reason to be thankful for the bounteousness with which they are surrounded. There can be absolutely no possible reason for complaint. Under the circumstances there will possibly be some benefit accrue to some of the more extravagant types of individuals.
