RECEIPTS TO DATE "PENALTY TO BE ADDED At yesterday's meeting the County Clerk reported that the current European rates struck were £23,945 i)S Id of which £2578 Os 3d had been paid. European arrears excluding orders; and post-dated cheques stood rtti £603 10s. The opening balance of Native rates including current year'? rate was £21,577 14s 3d of which £1524 Is 5d had been collected. It was resolved that in terras of Section 76 of the Rating Act 1925, and amendments, if any, an additional charge of 10 per cent be added to all 1941/42 Whakatane'Counts rates, and 1940/41 Whakatane Harbour rates not paid by March 24th, 19i42.
