CHARD NEAR CENTURY

DRAWN GAME AT DOMAIN TANEATUA PLAYS OUT' TIME The feature of the match between P. and T. and Taneatua at the week-end was Chard's fine knock for 94 runs, and he was very unfortunate to miss his century. Not realising how close his total was to the three figure mark he swung at a short one an the leg and mishitting skied it to the 'keeper. His score included one sixer and eight fours. Chard was quite well supported in his run getting mood and the Side's total was 358, the last wicket falling with about 2 hours to play. However Taneatua with an eye on the clock went cautiously and later settled down to play out time which was accomplished with three wickets in hand.
