THE "GOOD ENDEAVOUR" LEAGUE FOR YOUNG READERS ONLY

What ho, "what ho, ma hearties. Heave on 3'onr bow-lino and lay-to while we have a quiet smoke and :i yarn. Yes, here we are a sittin' in the sun on good old. Whale Island once again. Seems a long time since we went a-sailin' cross the seven seas. Yes, they were certainly great old days; but they'll come again lads and lass.ies. I'll never forget to take you all aboard whenever opportunity offered. The Whale is rather cold and windy just now. I sometimes wonder whin spring will really come, for J have quite a good crop of vegetables for the warmer days to come. Down at Sulphur Bay I discovered a little penguin yesterday with a broken flipper. He had drifted for miles with his poor wing hanging at his side. So I took him up to< my cave and set the flipper. He was very shy at first but after eating some fish, he went to sleep by the lire. Butinsky has been sniffing about him, wondering just who and what he is. Well, as soon as lie gets well I am going to introduce them and I'll bet they will be the best c>f friends. They can go on endless rambles around the island, and where the penguin can't walk, Butinsky can carry him. Just the same, if- the goat wants something in the water, the little penguin will be 1 able to get it for him. I think I will have a good little l'riend, don't you. Now for some line fishing. What about towling along and. trying your hands at a few schnapper. Right you are, I think I'll just about have enough lines and bait. Follow me down this rock path out to. the point and I'll bet you'll all have something good to take home to mother by nightlall.
