The flowers were sketched and incorporated in two patterns named after the home of the manufacturer and that of a fellow director. Jrt design and colouring they were so successful that a group of prominent American carpet manufacturers asked to see them displayed; in New York, During last year, trade with the United States was so good that the makers of these carpets sold more than four times as many Axminster piece good and Broadloom plain Wilton as in 1939. The flowers of Yorkshire are nowbeing arranged in other designs. Their suc-cess in the United States has already been repeated in Australia and New Zealand.
