"HAW-HAW'S" BROTHER
MYSTERIOUS DISAPPEARANCE
RELEASED FROM INTERNMENT
Frank tFoyce—23 year old brother of "Lord Haw-HaAv"—who was released from internment in May, has 'eft his home at Underhill Road, East Dulwich, Elngland, for an unnamed destination.
As soon as he was released lie went to his home, where he was welcomed by his. mother and other members of his family. A few hours later he left. The date of his return is "indefinite."
His mother said: "I will not tell you where he has gone, but I do not know when he will be back.
he, nor I, nor any member of my family want to discuss this affair."
Frank Joyce was detained in June of last year by Special Branch detectives at West Chislehurst, Kent, where he then lived.
He was interned under Regulation 188. He had been employed until the beginning of 1940 on the technical side of the BBC.
Another brother, Quentin Joyce. 3ged 25, a clerk at the Air Ministry until war broke out, has been in a British internment camp for some time.
Mr Michael Joyce, his father, died suddenly in London in February this year. He was always reluctant to discuss the pro-Nazi broadcasts of his son William, "Lord HawHaw," but he was known to have been bitterly opposed to them and to have considered them a slur on the family.
