COUNTY TRUCKS
ADDITIONS TO FLEET TWO FURTHER REQUIRED At yesterday's, meeting of tlie Whakatane County Council the engineer, Mr C. H. Brebner, gave (figures to support his statement that it Avoukl foe desirable to have two further metal trucks added to the council's fleet. Mr Brebner stated that the figures spent last year on hired,' trucks was £1556 for 346 truck Avorking days. If tAvo trucks Ave re purchased the costs would foe loAver, interest, sinking fund etc. focing £770 annually and Avages £394 for both vehicles. This! wouikl be a total of £116-1 representing a substantial saA'ing. A committee Avas appointed .to make enquiries and purchase tAvo trucks if considered advisable.
