NEW ZONE EXECUTIVE MEETS APPOINTMENT OF DELEGATES The first meeting of the> newly formed Zone K Patriotic Committee which comprises th©Whakatane Counties and Bore oughs took place at Whalta-> tane on Monday. Previously these areas were included' m one large Zone withi Tauranga and Te Puke, was found to be cumbersome; and divided into the two zones representing Eastern and Western Bay of Plenty. The personnel of the executive! for tlie new zone is as follows, merrii.ers having power to appoint sub» stilutes if they are unable to attend meetings:— Messrs J. L. Burnett (Patriotic Whakatane County chairman), B. S. Barry (Patriotic and Mayor of Whakatane), J. W». Sumner (Pat~ riotic and Harbour Board chairman), H. Brown (R.S.A. Whakatano president), I. B. Gow (Whakatane liucr-zone), W. Sullivan Council), G. S. Moody (Mayor of Opotiki), W. A. Gault (OpotiliS County chairman), E. J. Bai'gent County chairman), E. ,J, Baigen* (Opotiki), T. Steel (Opotiki) and a R.S.A. representative to be elected as yet from Opotiki. Mr J. L. Burnett was; elected x chairman, and Mr G. G. Lucas a * secretary-treasurer. Messrs tlie chairman, Barry, Sulli-> van and Steele were appointed an executive sub-committee. It Avas decided that officers would be elected annually and that three meetings be fixed for each year ant* others called Avhen necessary. The Whakatane and Opoti&i areas wil!l constitute inter-zones and all allocations' will be on, a tw.v thirds and one-third basis respee* tively.
