SEVERAL CASES HEARD
MUST JOIN HOME GUARD
A number of cases for exemption from Army training were heard at the local Court yesterday when the Manpower Committee sat. It was notable that where adjournments were made sine die the committee stipulated that tlia reservists temporarily exempted from attending camp must become members and train with the Home Guard. The appeal! of L. J. O'Brien was adjourned sine die providing the appellant continued in his present occupation and joined the Homo Guard. An adjournment sine die was also granted in the appeal of A ( . F'ergusison provided he joined the Home Guard within 14 days. The appeal of L. J. Richardson was dismissed, reservist not to be called for service until 1/6/41. I. M. Withy's appeal' was adjourned to 1/7/41, while that of L. O. Sundborn was adjourned to 1/6/41. That he continue his present occupation and train with thei Homo Guard was stipulated when A. M. Priestley's appeal was. adjourned sine die. F. E'nglebretsen is to continue to train with the Home Guard his appeal being adjourned sine die. The case of H. R. John wass stood down, the appellant having been called in the Overseas ballot.
