OHOPE ROAD

Sir, —I, too, think that the new road had better be stopped where the present road ends.. I like the idea of using the reserve. It could, be cleared : the front of it could be made into an ideal parking ground and the back of it into a shady picnic ground. I have put this proposition to quite a few and all have agreed with int. The vandalism of cutting a road through Mr Runnerstrum's garden could then be avoided. Yours etc., FIFTY-EIGHT. Sir,—The County Council, in my opinion, would be wise to let things stay as they are. All is weil, there are no complaints from 1 to 58. Time enough for the council to act when a majority of the ratepayers concerned say "Yes.?' At present 80 per cent (a large majority) of the ratepayers say "No.". Let your ratepayers be your guide. Yours etc,, RATEPAYER.
