REQUEST FOR USED STAMPS From a letter from Dr Frank "Colli©, brother of Sir John Collie, the eminent English physician, comes the following extract: "We have paid for over 1000 licenses for soldiers' dogs, and find 7/6's difficult to get SO' we are also doing war Avork as Avell as the Red. Cross." Dr F. Collie Avho is now retired from the medical profession has for some years interested himself in the Avelfare of animals. He is a keen animal lover and supports a home for horses and dogs, entirely by the collection of used postage stamps. The main object in rescuing these unfortunate animals, Avhich are collected mostly off the London streets, is to save them from the A'ivisectionist's knife. The whole of this Avorlc is carried on from tlic proceeds of used postage stamps. Readers who are interested and Avould like to help Dr Collie in his Avork by the saving of N.Z/ stamps—any type, from half pennies umvards, are requested to leave them at this office and they will be forwarded.
