LAST OF THE SERIES
WHAKATANE'S POPULAR DANCES GOOD ATTENDANCE ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT There was a good attendance at the Winter Show Hall ori Wednesday night when the last of the very popular series, of patriotic dances was held. Mr G., Walker, Master of Ceremony for the season, expressed the committee's thanks for the patronage accorded the series, which had been instrumental in materially assisting the local patriotic effort. Music was provided by Mrs K. Armstrong's orchestra and the home--made supper was in the care of the very capable ladies responsible for such outstanding service during the season. Good work was done by Misses Roberts and J. Baker, who conducted a competition during the evening. The winner was Mr J. W. Kinley. Humorous items were presented by Mr C, Walker.
