; MAORI BATTALION 1 FOOTBALLERS 1 APPRECIATION OF HOSPITALITY . A letter of appreciation for the hospitality, extended to; the Maori Battalion football,' team on its recent visit to Whakatane lias been received by Mr F. Harawira, of Paroa, from Lieut. G. Sanitoh, 0.G., F Coy., Maori Reinforcements, SecondLieut. P. G. West, and the mem-! bers who made the trip, all signing. The letter reads: "I must apologise, because of pressure of duties, having written you sooner to thank you and our Whakatane friends for the very] excellent reception you tendered our boys when they were down the Bay. "As you know, many of the boys * are South Isalnders, and Mr West assure's me that the trip was quite a memorable one.
