PRODUCER GAS
USE ON MOTOR VEHICLES We have received from the Commissioner of Transport an interesting booklet dealing Avith producer gas and its emergency use for automotive purposes. It is of particular interest to motorists, and can be obtained from the chief post offices at Dunedin.. Clvistchurch and Auckland for the small sum of 3d. As the Minister for Supply, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan, points out in the foreword to the booklet, there is a danger of supplies of motor spirit from overseas being seriously interrupted, which would have the effect of gravely affecting the commercial and industrial life of this Dominion. Before the outbreak of Avar, the Government set up a committee to investigate the use of alternative fuels for motor vehicles, and |ilid ! s booklet, AA'hicli deals in a compreliensiA r e manner Avith the subject, is the outcome of the investigation. Detailed plans of the necessary plant and equipment are given which should be a great help to those about to instal producer gas on motor vehicles.
