THE FURROWS TURN

PLOUGHS AND MEN A,T WORK On every side of the road in every •district the passing motorist sees the ploughs and men at work as the farmers start in with their seasonal cropping. Activity is alKvays brisk, but this year, responding to the call for more to be produced from the land, activity is intensified and miles on miles of furrows are being turned on the maize account alone. Labour difficulties are likely to retard the work and are even more likeliy to influence the harvesting ol' the crops but the farmers are carrying the brown earth turning as they guide the ploughs, doing their share in a common effort.
