"We shall be having a snakes, ancE* ladders championship yet," remarked a member of the Taranalsi Education Board! when a teacher applied , for two days' leave of absence .to-, take part in table tennis at Wellington. The application was declined, the comment being made when: it was remarked that leave of absence had been granted for football?" that "football was different."
