PLAYER INJURED

C. FRANCIS OFF THE SCENE'FOR SOME WEEKS During the match with Opotiki at Te Teko on Saturday, C. Francis, Rangitaiki fullback, was pulled down and in a melee suffered an injury to his nose. He continued to play, finishing the game, and on Monday, the injury causing some concern, he sought medical advice. It was found that a bone was broken and he was ordered to rest for at least two weeks. His absence will be felt by Rangitaiki and the injury was particularly unfortunate for Francis as his selection for the Bay team in the Auckland fixture was regarded in some quarters as certain.
