BADMINTON
WHAKATANE CLUB The annual general meeting of the above Club was held in the Borough Chambers on Wednesday, April 24th. The meeting, which was well attended, was presided over by Mr Bigelow. It Was decided that the 1940. season should commence on Tuesday* April 30th, and a cordial invitation was extended to all members of outside Clubs. The balance sheet as presented by the secretary showed the Club to be in a sound financial position. The following officers were elected:—President: Mr Bigelow; vicepresident: Mr H. Young; secretary and treasurer: Mr I. Woolliams; committee; Misses N. Blyth, Woolliams and Thatcher, Messrs Atkinson, Timbs and Thatcher.
