WHAKATANE CLUB COMPETITION RESULTS

The club competitions have reach ed a further stage. Players now left in the singles championship arc: — Two lifers: Norris and Healy. One lifers: Hooper, Howat, Baxter, Littlejohn, Loanc, Wilson, Sloane, H. Bell. In the pairs championship the position is:— Section A: Hellyar and Loane 4 wins; Luxton and Norris 2 wi 11 s 2 losses; Francis and Hooper 2-1; Drube and Warner 0-4: Havward and Baxter 3-0; Healy and Graham 1-2; Wilson and King 1-4. Section B: Smith and Shaw 0-3: Salmon and Marsh 2-1; Littlejohn and Howat 4-0; Guthrie and Currah 0-3; J. Bell and Mclsaac 1-1; Conv» er and Sloane 1-2; McLeod and Cais ley 2-0. The junior championship, just starting, has attracted 12 entries. The match against Te Puke at Te Puke on Saturday hod to be post poned on account of Avet The following teams are selected to play for Whakatane ngiinst Te Puke at Te Puke next Saturday, March 2nd. Henderson, Healy, Caisley, McLeod (s); Murphy. Hellyar, Marsh, Currah (s): Nicholson, White, A. Bridger, Shaw (s); Butt, Br-11, Tippett, Baxter (s); Black, Francis, Guthrie, Sloane (s); Drube, Turpin, Hooper, Luxton (s); Dines, Bigelow Creeke. Graham (s); Shapley, Bullard, H. Bell, Littlejohn (s), Cars will leave the club ground at 12.30 p.m. All unable to- attend please notify the secretary or selector .
