COUNCIL MEETS
REPORTS RECEIVED LENGTHY MEETING YESTERDAY The Whakatane County Council met yesterday, when Mr J. L. Burnett presided over Councillors A. F. McGougan. L. W. Luxton, W. A. McCracken. R. F. Ward law, C| T. Smith. D. W. Spenee, T. G. H. Cawte and F. .1, Burt. The Clerk, Mr C. G. Lucas, and the Engineer, Mr C. H. Brebner, ajso attended. 'I'he reports of the -Finance and Works Committees and that of the Engineer were adopted and a deputation concerning the Qhope swimming pool project was heard. Discussion on other Cor.nty matters proceeded and the meeting concluded at 4.35 p.m.
